Ann Kinnaird 1826 Banff
« on: Friday 20 July 07 00:10 BST (UK) »

Hi
I am looking for any information on Ann Kinnaird born around 1825. She married James Duncan about 1845 in Gamrie. Her daughter Ann Duncan married John Duncan 1873.Some trees have her born 1808 to Peter Kinnaird and Anne Rose.Others have parents as James Kinnaird and Jan Findlay who were married 1821. and Glenn Perry's site lists the parents as James Kinnaird and Ann Urquhart. Can anyone out there help.
Thanking you
Bob Duncan

Hi Bob

Ann did marry in 1845. This is an actual extract from the OPRs:

ANN KINAIRD  Marriages: JAMES DUNCAN
Marriage: 06 DEC 1845  Gamrie, Banff, Scotland

Can't easily see her death entry on SP - have you searched for it?

Regards.

Hi Monica

Thanks for the prompt reply.Information I have on her death is from http://www.glennperry.co.uk/James_Duncan_1825.html  I have not searched for her death cert but have been trying to verify who her parents are. There are so many Kinnairds it has become confusing. On Worldwide Kinnairds she is listed in Family 72 Parents James Kinnaird and Ann Urquhart

No wonder I couldn't find Ann if she died in the US! Pity, as confirmation of her parents' names will be harder for you.

The only OPR birth entry showing for the birth of an Ann in Gamrie is that to parents James and Ann Urquhart. Their children's entries don't show on IGI but do on the SP OPR index. Going by the names of their children and some similarities with Ann and James Duncan's children's names, I would say they are the strongest possibilities for your Ann's parents. From the OPRs:

1   29/05/1821   KENAIRD   WILLIAM    JAS. KENAIRD/ANN URQUHART FR692   M   Gamrie and Macduff   /BANFF   155/ 0030 0021

2   30/11/1823   KENAIRD   ANN   JAS. KENAIRD/ANN URQUHART FR692   F   Gamrie and Macduff   /BANFF   155/ 0030 0021

3   21/11/1826   KENAIRD   ISABEL   JAMES KENAIRD/ANN URQUHART FR703   F   Gamrie and Macduff   /BANFF   155/ 0030 0041

4   30/05/1829   KENAIRD   HELEN   JAMES KENAIRD/ANN URQUHART FR708   F   Gamrie and Macduff   /BANFF   155/ 0030 0052

5   30/01/1832   KINNAIRD ALEXANDER   JAMES KINNAIRD/ANN URQUHART FR715   M   Gamrie and Macduff   /BANFF   155/ 0030 0066

6   19/06/1834   KENNARD   BARBARA      JAMES KENNARD/ANN URQUHART FR721   F   Gamrie and Macduff   /BANFF   155/ 0030 0078

Regards.

Thank you Monica

Your help has been very much appreciated.
I have to agree with you it does look the strongest possibility.Looking at the different spellings it's no wonder people are hard to trace.(Especially from here in Australia)
Thank you again for your time
