Jackie SAUNDERS. Completed
« on: Friday 20 July 07 15:49 BST (UK) »

Has anyone got a Jackie Saunders in their tree? My grandmother had a photograph of him in a locket. My mother was born in 1905 and used to talk of him being a nice little boy. I think he must have been at least 10yrs younger than my mother. My family lived in Hartington Street, Bedford and I think Jackie lived in that area. I would love to know something about him.

I have recently found this photograph of Jackie Saunders. If anyone has any information about a Saunders family, living in or near the Hartington Street area of Bedford in the 1900's, I would be very pleased to hear from them.

I would contact "Bedfordshire On Sunday" newspaper if I were you.  Please send them the photo and other info.

I tried local papers and put my Dad in contact with an old War comrade he hadn't seen for over 60 years!  They were so pleased to be in touch after all those years.  So it is well worth a go?

Also, search the CWGC site [War graves] in case he died in the War 1 - although I am sure you would know if he was killed?

Also, check out the ''missing you'' web site.

Best wishes & good luck with your research

Hi Celia
Thank you for your interest. I think the Ampthill Road address could be significant but I haven't progressed any further.

Hi

I have another thread  Photographs for opinions.
« on: Saturday 27 October 07 09:16 BST (UK) » on the Photograph Restoration board.

I would just like one more try at identifying Jackie Saunders. It has become very confusing, even to me, but if anyone has the time to look at the other thread and could help I would be very grateful.
