Hi,
Need help, please, to find-

Joshua Henry Lee born 1821 St Neots

also

Rebecca Lee born 1835 St Ives

They married in 1856 London.

Would appreciate any help with this.

Were they in the country in 1861 as on the 1891 census Rebecca is a widow, and is living with her son Joshua and his family aged 30 born Ireland, living in Norfolk

Hi Ricky,
I have them on the 1881 living in Norwich,
I have a Son Benjamin born 1858 chichester then a gap before Thomas was born 1869 Norwich, If they were in Ireland, it would explain why I haven't found the missing children.
Thanks for the look up for Rebecca, yet again! not living with family!

I see on the 1881 as you say they had a son Benjamin in Sussex in 1858, I had a look there but I couldnt see the family. I have a feeling that as Joshua the son was born 1860/61 in Ireland I think thats where they might be.

In 1871, cleverly disguised as surname Sulton, with Joshua born St Neots Hampshire!
RG10/1816 folio 78B
13 Chapel St, Crooks Place, St Stephen Norwich
Joshua Henry Lee head marr 45 Railway Porter b St Neots Hunts
Rebecca Lee wife 36 b St Ives
Benjamin Lee son 13 Grocer's apprentice b Chichester
Joshua Lee son 10 scholar b Dublin
Thomas Henry Lee son 2 b Norwich
Rosa Lee dau 5mths b Norwich

It would certainly seem that they may well have been in Ireland in 1861. As Joshua was described as Railway porter. Pensioner in 1881 I wonder if the Pensioner part of it may have been Chelsea pensioner, ie he had been a soldier, which might explain why his children had been born in a variety of places including Ireland

Hi all,
  In the 1841...HO107/486/18 he is listed as a private at a barrack's in St Mary Northgate,Canterbury.

  could explain the pensioner bit and moving around.

Was he described as a soldier on his marriage certificate? You'll also get fathers' names, if you haven't already got it

He was in the 22nd Regiment of Foot (the Cheshire Regiment) whose headquarters 1855-71 was at Chichester
