Dundalk

Hi to everyone on the irish boards  Smiley

I'm planning a trip to Dundalk later this year to do some family research.  My dad's family came from this area. They moved to England shortly after the second world war when my dad was just a child.  Sadly my dad is no longer able to give me any information about his family and their ancestors and there are no living relatives I know to who could enlighten me.  I've never been to dundalk and know nothing about it and I'm hoping someone may be able to tell me how to go about trying to find records, cemeteries etc.  Also do the names Bryne and McNally mean anything to anyone?

Many thanks

Hello Jo,

Dundalk Reference and Local History Library should be worth a visit. Librarians in Ireland offer a large amount of assistance to people tracing their family trees. www.louthcoco.ie/Index.aspx?deptid=8&dpageid=2
