Much of Ulster was settled by people from Scotland (Ulster Scots) from 1600s onwards. As Ireland and Scotland were part of Britain there are no passenger lists for people moving between the two countries. Since civil registration only started in mid1800s it would be very difficult to find a Scottish connection without details like a family Bible, gravestone inscription which mentions Scotland, etc.

Should also add that Morrison, Hutchinson and Gilmour are all names found in Scotland and that Gilmour/Gilmores are actually a sept of the Morrison clan.
