I am researching Andrew Blackwood - Sadler- one time at High St, Kinross  (1901 Census )and his wife Janet Beveridge. does anyone have any information?

Could you tell us a little more of what you already know, and what you'd like to find? So as we don't go looking for what you already have....

For example, do you have him on earlier Census? Do you have their marriage?

Good morning-So far I have found Andrew and Janet ms Beveridge on the 1901 census living in Kinross - as the parents of James Beveridge Blackwood ( who eventually became the stationmaster at Galashiels station.  I have on the 91 census a William and Ann Beveridge (ages 65 and 60)- William is recorded as a Saddler - who have living with them a son Andrew age 25 this seems to fit. Further than this I have not got.  Elizabeth.

scotlandspeople has a marriage -
andrew blackwood and janet beveridge 1892 kinross , kinross

there is also a birth for james beveridge blackwood 1895 kinross , kinross

and a death james beveridge blackwood 1953 galashiels , selkirk born c1896

a death - janet blackwood(other surname beveridge) 1940 cowdenbeath fife
born c1865

a death - andrew blackwood 1918 kinross , kinross born c1863

i have only looked at the index on scotlandspeople for the above information
so i'm not certain it's who you are looking for

Good evening - thanks for your information the James who died in Galashiels in 1953 is definately the Galashiels stationmaster as the result of an accident - will check out others tonight. thanks for your help.  elizabeth.

Hi Elizabeth

Looking at the Census, it would seems very likely the 1891 Andrew BLACKWOOD, Saddler in 1891 age 28 you have will prove to be the correct one. But I don't think William's wife Ann in that Census is Andrew's mother - I think she'sWilliam's 2nd wife.  And that Andrew's  mother was Isabella EDGAR  who appears to have died between 1871 & 1881.
