Hi RosemaryJoan, Just browsing and saw your message. Just in case you haven't found anything out yet I have a dictionary of Scottish surnames but all it says about Anderson is - ' Peebles etc. 13thc: Clan name - Ross'. Rae

Clan Maclaine of Lochbuie has a website - I'm sure you will have looked at it already. It confirms that one of the septs is McCormick! Hope you enjoy exploring this history. Rae
