Seeking any info on the following people :-
1. RICHARD MORRISON BICKERDIKE (GEORGE) was born 6 November 1861 in (St Sampson) York,N.Yorks, and died 19 December 1948 in York,N.Yorks. He married ADA ROCHESTER, daughter of GEORGE WARD and ELIZABETH ROCHESTER. She was born September 1865 in York,N.Yorks, and died 14 July 1938 in York,N.Yorks.

I think it could have come from the maiden name of his mothers mother.
otherwise I don't know at the moment.

Hi Lizdb,
Thanks for the info, had a look but don't think connected as mine are all in York.
Catherine- bit confused with the 1871 census info, Richards mother was a Driffield (according to a cousin) and he only had one sister called Martha born & died 1859.
