 Would some kind person please look up for me,

the baptism of Robert Johnston/e born 1816 Girthon Kirkcudbright  (and any

other sibblings) to these parents if possible

Parents name are William Johnston/e and Agnes Henderson...

Also look up for marriage of William Johnston/e and Agnes Henderson. Not sure which church.

Can't find any Robert with those parents throughout Kirkcudbrightshire for 1814-1818 nor any siblings.

Can you tell us where you got the information about the Girthon birth and his parents' names - was it a census and a marriage/death cert?

Thank you for your reply.

I have death cert for Robert Johnstone b 1816.

It states ROBERTS father as being William Johnston/e mother  ? Henderson.

I think it could be Agnes Henderson.

I found  this Marion Johnston/e  baptised 19th Oct 1803 Troqueer

Father William Johnston/e

Mother Agnes Henderson.

Any Help with this much appreciated.

The only Robert Johnston*s in KKD with a father William are :

12 Apr 1813 (and Helen Lindsay) - Borgue
18 Dec 1813  (and Elizabeth Gillespie) - Kells
8 Feb 1814 (and Janet Muirhead) - New Abbey
2 July 1819 (and Janet Mcminnies) - Kirkpatrick Durham

There is a Robert bpt in 1816:

28 Oct 1816 to Robert and Janet Johnstone - Rerrick

I've just found an interesting marriage/banns entry:

26 July 1795, Troqueer - William Johnstone to Unknown person (name not given)

There is, of course, no way of knowing if it's Agnes but it's a likely one  Smiley

Many thanks for your reply and the information.

I think that this lot may well be who I am looking for. as some of the names I

have fit in with  what I have on Agnes Henderson & William Johnstone. But
there is no telling for sure 100% as yet but sure there is a connection with
this lot.
