Aberdeen news archives from 1877 - ? suicide report
« on: Saturday 04 August 07 22:49 BST (UK) »

Can anyone suggest who to contact to find archive news reports for Aberdeen?

I have the death record of GGG grandmother Ann Pittendrigh Whyte in Old Machar on 26th July 1877 which was corrected in the Register of Corrected Entries 2 weeks after her death and signed by the Procurator Fiscal.  Then signed again 16 months after her death.

The corrected  entry says that the cause of death was from injuries by throwing herself or falling from an attic window to the ground, a distance of about 40 feet.

I wondered if such a death would have been reported in the newspapers of the time?   Huh
