I have found a group of "Bingham's" in the 1871 Census index, but am not sure if they are in the same family.
The names are:
Elizabeth Bingham abt 1818 Derbyshire
William Bingham abt 1850 Derbyshire
Mary Jane Bingham abt 1869 Derbyshire
William Bingham abt 1826 Derbyshire
Lylence Bingham abt 1827 Derbyshire
John Bingham abt 1853 Derbyshire
Joseph Bingham abt 1857 Derbyshire
William Bingham abt 1860 Derbyshire
Mary Jane Bingham abt 1863 Derbyshire
Martha Bingham abt 1866 Derbyshire
and they shared the same census reference number DBY RG10/3633 with individual ref numbers in the range 9605912 - 9605933.
My main interest is William Bingham c1852 and his mother Elizabeth c1818, with a possible link to Mary Jane Bingham c1868.
These three names appear in the above and I would be grateful if anyone could easily confirm if this is actually one family, or two families living nearly next door to each other.
I am fairly sure I found them in 1861:

Thank you Heather & Pam.
For a moment I thought I was getting closer to working this out.
But, Mary Jane Bingham, aged 2 and born in Litton, is shown on TWO 1871 census:
One as the granddaughter to Elizabeth, and the other as the daughter of Robert & Hannah. And Robert appears to be Elizabeths son, according to the 1861 Census.
I wonder if they both put Mary J on each others census, even though she was only at one house ?

I agree that's the most likely explanation but I think you need to be careful as there are these BMD entries and getting the age wrong on census is not unknown

Thanks for that Heather, I was sure that I had checked on the births, but thought I had only seen one Mary Jane born in Bakewell at about that time.
I had better double check myself from now on 
I may just pop this one in the "too hard basket" for a while
