I found the registers quite by chance too and as you say Ancestry don't make it easy.

The onesI am interested in haven't been indexed but I have downloaded all the images and am slowly going through them all and have found them really useful as some of them contain a lot of detail.

I found the burial of a sibling of my 4xggrandfather in 1824 which stated he was the son of William Bisby and Sarah (now Martin) so was then able to find 5xggrandmother's remarriage.

I am in the process of downloading another set now, quite time consuming but worth it in the end.
