John (Donald) McDONALD  occ. Caretaker of Bruce’s castle.
Married Martha LIVINGSTONE………… Daughter was Sarah McDONALD
b.1794 Lochrutton Kirkcudbright - d. 1864 Dalswinton     occ. Carter
Sarah married James CARRUTHERS  1791-1848 died Quarrelwood Kirkmahoe.
They had a son James CARRUTHERS born in Guillyburn Kirkmahoe 1835 & died in South Africa in 1916. Looking for more on the McDONALDS
