death
« on: Thursday 09 August 07 19:04 BST (UK) »

Hi
I am hoping to obtain information on the death of my relative
William Morgan Harris born 1869 in Brecon Wales, he died in Alice South Africa in 1886 (September) i have no idea why he was there, he was not a soldier, or how he died.
I have read guidance on this and other sites but i am still unable to navigate to the right spot to get more info.
I would also like to know which archive centre Alice info could be found.
Thanks. Huh

Alice will probably be in the Cape Archive.

Either of these two files could be his and it may be worth you while to get copies of them:

MOOC  6/9/236  1421  HARRIS, WILLIAM. DEATH NOTICE.  1886 1886
MOOC  6/9/246  976  HARRIS, WILLIAM. DEATH NOTICE.  1887 1887

Just looking at this again.  He was only 17, right?  Maybe you won't find a death notice for him because of his age and the fact that he may not have had any property to distribute.
