Greystoke Marriages
« on: Thursday 09 August 07 21:29 BST (UK) »

I'm trying to find the parents of John Fothergill born 1791/93 Mallerstang.

He was married for he second time in Greystoke on 28th May 1836 to Ann Hudson (nee park).... witnesses Thomas Hudson, Mary Hudson and the parish clerk Thomas Workman.

I was wondering if Michael or somebody could look up the marriage to see if the father is named...... and also see if they can find his first marriage and any children from it.  There is a marriage to an Anne Brownrigg also in Greystoke on 2nd March 1829 ..... I was hoping this is his first marriage and his father may be named....... although I can't find a death for Anne.

Thankyou so much
Jean

I've never seen a father's name on a pre 1837 marriage register, even when a person has been "under age".

Mallerstang was in Westmorland Smiley http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/WES/Mallerstang/index.htm

Thanks Geoff....... I thought maybe the fathers name may be on as the witnesses are on.

Yes..I know Mallerstang is in Westmorland but he was married in Greystoke.
