Holy Island - Pilgrims' Path

Wilson/(Mac)Taggart, Kells
« on: Thursday 09 August 07 21:50 UTC (UK) »

Hi

One of my brickwalls - James Wilson and Jean MacTaggart

I'm trying to get further back with this set of Grt x3 Grandparents. They had the folowing children bpt, Kells- Auchie or Achie a small farm just outside of New Galloway  on the Minnigaff road  :

1798 John (presume died)
1800 Robert
1803 James
1806 John

Above from SP records

No MIs for them

I found a reference to them in the Kirk Session Minutes for Kells when they were admonished for some minor misdemeanor in the 1790s. Other than this info, I can find nothing definite.

Any ideas or info please.

Thanks

Update:

I have found a possible for Jean, bpt. in 1763. Is this a wee bit old? However, her last known child was in 1806, so it's possible  Undecided

Her father is down as John MacTaggart, weaver in ? Hinclockhead, Kells.

Does anyone know of this seetlement/farmstead/place, please?
