Hello,
I'm looking into the McConnell family of Warwick. My gg grandfather was Henry Welch McConnell (William Henry on some documents). I know that he died in 1908 aged 67. He was married to Elizabeth (Grantham). In the 1901 census the follwing childern were recorded:
William age 16 Maud age 14 Mary age 12 Agnes age 9 Phillip age 4 Monica age 4 Edith age 4 Robert 7 days old David - visitor age 8 months
Phillip, Monica and Edith were triplets and Monica was my great grandmother.
If anybody has any other information on the rest of the family it would make my year!
Thanks
Madfan

Hi Madfan,
I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for but here is the exact 1901 info and we can work from that... Do you have them on pervious censuses?
1901 Warwick St Nicholas. 39 Union Road, Packmores
Henry Welch Mc Connell, head, 67, Road Coorporation Labourer, born Ireland Elizabeth Mc Connell, wife, 39, born Eatington, Warwickshire William H Mc Connell, son, 16, Errand boy at County Hall Maud Mc Connell, daughter, 14 Mary Mc Connell, daughter, 12 Agnes Mc Connell, daughter, 9 Phillip Mc Connell, son, 4 Monica Mc Connell, daughter, 4 Edith Mc Connell, daughter, 4 Robert Mc Connell, son 7 days David Mc Connell, visitor, 8 months
Everyone bar Henry W born in Eatington
RG13/2928/174/8
I can't seem to locate the marriage of Henry and Elizabeth
On the census Mc Connell is spelt with a space between the Mc and the Connell

Hello,
That was quick, wasn't expecting a reply so soon!
What I would really like to know is what happened to my g grandmothers siblings or her mum, I have not been able to find any marriage or death records for them. I do have the burial record for Henry, went to try find his grave at the cemetery today but no luck, Elizabeth his wife was much younger than him so it is possible that she married again.
Any help or advice would be great

Do you have the marriage cert for Henry and Elizabeth? If so what does it say?
I'll just look up the 1881 census then see what I can find out about the siblings etc.
I'm not sure about the age difference as tere are only 2 years between them in 1891, however they were always good a altering their ages! Or perhaps the young Elizabeth could be a 2nd marriage for Henry?
I can't find them on the 1881 census...

Hi Legs,
I have found the marriage of Henry and Elizabeth - 1883. I forget to say that Elizabeth is down as Jane Elizabeth on my g grandmothers birth certificate - Sorry. In the 1901 census she is down as 39 years age and Henry 61, he is down as 67 on his death in 1908. I should get their marriage certifcate next week so that may clear up the age?
Cheers

Rosetta Welch McConnell married either Charles Parry or David Rogers in the September quarter of 1900 in the district of Warwick, Volume 6d page 1116.
1901 Census Rugby 34 Dale Street
Charles Parry, head, 32, Chruch Army Evangilist Church of England Preach, born Pembroke, Monkton Rosetta Parry, wife, 27, born Stanford in the Vale, Berks
That doesn't quite fit but I can't find anything any closer....

ok, found Henry Welch McConnell's marriage to Jane Elizabeth, December 1/4 1883 in Warwick. Rosetta and Cetty both born before their parents marriage, not unusual but worth knowing.
I can't find any obvious marriages for any of the other children.
