As part of my one name study I am searching for information on Joseph Tivey who was born 30 July 1809 in Melbourne Derbyshire. All I know about him is that he PROBABLY married a Sarah Hollingworth (this is hearsay as I cant find any evidence as to a marriage yet) He is said to have emigrated to Canada before the 1841 census. (there is a marriage registered in Dec 1841 for a Hepzipidah Hollingworth marrying (with Joseph Tivey one of the possibles) but I dont think this is the marriage as Sarah Bird is also on the list and I know she married a different Joseph Tivey pre 1843 Derbyshire )
Apart from his birth record I have one positive record of him from 1821 when he was 12 years of age and apprenticed to to John PERRY steel toy manufacturer, Aston, Birmingham, Warwicks.
If anyone has access to Canadian Census info from 1841 onwards I would love to find out what happened to him. The tale that he emigrated is purely family hearsay, so I would like to find more evidence through census or ship's records if at all possible.

Id forgotten about this post and for some reason havent been notified of any replies 
Thanks for the Birthday wishes and for everyone's help 
It is a coincidence but Rowland is from a different branch of the Tivey family. He is the Grandson of Thomas Tivey & Catherine Dent. His father was Sidney and Mother Sarah Hollingworth (different one!) Rowland emigrated as did his brother Reuben born 1841 Melbourne Derbyshire.

on the 1881 census? He's a boat builder, but may have moved up in scale

I now know that Joseph didnt emigrate afterall 
As you have seen on my post re Joseph in Aston. I didnt realise this at the time as their ages are different on SOME census and his name was mis-transcribed throughout
So thanks everyone for looking but it looks like Joseph stayed in Aston as a BOOT Maker (not Boat!!) All I need to find now is his death ~ though it could possibly be mis-transcribed once again!
The other information posted on Rowlands family etc will certainly come in Handy for my one name study.
