St Kew family William HARRY & Phillippa
« on: Tuesday 14 August 07 08:11 BST (UK) »

I would appreciate advice/suggestions regarding large gap between birth dates for children of this marriage (date unknown) eg all at St Kew.
31 Dec 1717 William Harry,18 Oct 1719 Dorethy,12 Oct 1731 Mathew (my line). There may also be a Richard as listed in Will of Phillippa Harry.
Phillippa also had children from a previous marriage to John Lynam.
Perhaps this should be on another board.

Hi again,

I agree it does sound like a large gap. Since you have a will listing Richard it appears there were more children. Not baptised perhaps, but I would be inclined to order in the St Kew film to your LDS Library and have a look for yourself. You will probably find there are sections of pages which are quite unreadable and that is why we are not finding Richard. Going through it yourself you may just be able to read enough to know it is who you are looking for...........Cheers Kris  Cheesy

Thanks Kris.
Some years back I accessed the film for St Kew and photocopied the register pages for 1717 William,1719 Dorothy and 1731 Mathew. These entries fairly clear but parts of the pages impossible to read.Could not find Richard. He was a substantial beneficiary of his mother's Will (Philippa died 1746).His father William had died 1733.If Richard was the oldest son he may have been born c1715.
John Lynam, first husband died Jan. 1715.
I also have a transcription of St Kew bapt.purchased from Cornish Forefathers.Again no Richard.
There is a Will for a Richard Harry of St Kew dated 1764.This might provide the answer.I may have to purchase a copy.
