Thomas Barber's wife
« on: Wednesday 15 August 07 13:20 BST (UK) »

can anyone help with parish records showing the christening of Alfred Barber (probably in Catherington, Horndean, Hampshire) and whether the mother is Sarah or Hannah.

From what I can make out Sarah was the first wife of Thomas; presumably died after 1827 and before 1841 as Hannah is shown on the 1841 census. Records of deaths and marriages would also be useful or tell me where I can find info online.

Thanks
Ann

Thank you Valda for that info.

Is there any records of a baptism for Alfred Barber born about 1829 (it looks like Sarah may have died giving birth to Alfred from your info).

Is there any marriage record for Thomas and Hannah probably between 1830 to 1836.

thank you

Ann

Hampshire Genealogical Society have a county wide marriage index up to 1837. As far as marriages are concerned I only have access to the IGI (about 43% coverage of Hampshire parishes up to 1837) and the BVRI. Neither has coverage of .Catherington

I could not find a baptism for an Alfred Barber anywhere in Hampshire pre 1837.
