Oh, I hope that is the mother...good finds, Janice...
http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/Test16.jsp?id=98811 Here is Samuel in 1911 ( new son Edward) I am sure, although he may have a new wife even thought the dates are similar, she says immigrated from England in 1888....Dates can change on censuses...happens al the time Just the fact that they are in the same area looks promising as well...
Plus if the real mother has died, then the new mother might have trouble with the dates... Or it could be something as simple as that she is using a middle name, now....as to some people then, the names were interchangeable...as any of us J.J.

Ahhhhhhhh...I can't find a Josephine O'Brien on the 1881 who has a father John and a mother Mary Ellen ? J.J.
Didfind the name of the 3rd child to be Eniza Grace Couture, so this is the correct family on the 1911...

There's a Maggie O'Brien on the 1881 for Qebec, with a John and Mary...but it also says born Que.
also in 1881 ...There's also a Maggie Obrien with the MCCANN family in Renfrew, Ont. & a widowed John & family ( daughter named Mary) in Gratton as well...
