Good Morning Val,

What denomination were your great grandparents?

The records of the christenings of their children may be in one of the churches in the Curragh area.

They would have been Church of England.

Hiya Val,

You may require the records of St Paul's Garrison Church, Curragh Camp, Co. Kildare. It's on www.curragh.info/home.htm That site also has a Forum related to the Curragh.

The historical articles on the Curragh Local History Croup website may interest you. One of them is about Schooldays on the Curragh. When the British Army handed over the Curragh to the Irish Free State on May 16th 1922 they took all their school records with them. However it is known that the present School of Signals on O’Higgins Road was used as a Junior School.

The C of E Church at the Curragh has always been known to locals as The 'Weseline' and is still there.

?Worth a try.

I think SAFFA will prove to be very much a shot in the dark. Let us know how you get on
if you go that route. Members with ancestors who were based at the Curragh may like to have a look at the Curragh Boys National School Roll Book - Links thread.
