Hi

I posted for help on the beginners board and didn't get a reply, maybe someone can help me here.....

My father, Samuel Norton Fox was born 7.2.1909 and the birth was registered at Dungannon - it's a 'mini' certificate issued in 1948 - and that's it for details.  He was called up to 12 Searchlight Battery RA in 1939 at Lurgan and ended up in England, met my mother and later here I am. He died in 1965. His father was John, a farmer (?)

You now know as much as me.........can anyone advise me how to get a start on this ?  I don't think I have enough details to approach  the records office for a full certificate.

hmmmmmm.....

Just shows that you can't even rely on what your parents write on their marriage certificates......

Thought 'Farmer' might be a little embroidered......

Received a full certificate back from GRONI - very quick service, especially considering it's Christmas.

Samuel Norton Fox   b 07.02.1909  Moygashel, Co Tyrone, Parents: William Fox (Labourer) and Elizabeth nee Campbell.

Still getting nowhere though - Moygashel is historically a linen weaving place near Dungannon ?....anyone any idea what parish/township it would have been in?    Better still .....anyone  able to generate via census etc any further leads for me ?
