hi,
i'm having real trouble with this branch of my family. i have found the death certificates for thomas mcluskey and mary mcmahon but even though i have the addresses on them i can't find them on any census. if i put what information i have could someone have a look for me in case i'm just missing then?
thomas mcluskey 47
married to mary mcmahon
died 1869 december 23rd.
4 park street, fisher row, dundee
father-william mcluskey, farmer
mother-margaret keenan.
signed mary mcluskey, daughter
mary mcluskey 56
widow of thomas mcluskey
died august 23rd 1893
10 johnstone drive, dundee
father - thomas mcmahon, farmer
mother - mary mcmahon
signed, p duffy, son-in-law, 141 kirkgate, leith.
i'm totally stuck, i don't know if it's because there are so many diferent spellings of their surnames.
any help would be appreciated!

(this was female and think it should read Jane)

IGI shows following born to Thomas McLusky and Mary McMahon at Dundee:
Mary b.28/4/1856
Thomas b.12/1/1858
James b.29/5/1859 (think he must have died as not on 1861 Census)
Catherine b.23/5/1861
Ann b.11/10/1866
Jane b.22/1/1868
SP shows that Annie McCluskey married Philip Duffy 1890 Leith.

another question!
thomas died in 1869 and it was his daaughter mary who registered the death, i think she must have bee 13 or 14 at this time, do you think this would have been possible?

On the IGI if you just enter McCluskey in surname then enter British Isles - Scotland - Angus and press enter you will bring up 86 entries. The ones relating to your family are entries 6, 10, 11, 15, 19, 52. William's is not there nor is it on ScotlandsPeople.
Had just a few credits left on SP and searched and found 3 of the births before they ran out. Under 'Search Statutory Register Births' entered Catherine McCluskey (ticked the Soundex box) - entered year 1861 and and under county/city etc. box picked Dundee City and up she came as McClusky. Also found Ann with year 1866 and Jane with year 1868. Both came up as McCluskey.
Hopefully you can now find them.
