Possibly. Much more efficient to just ask what it is you're looking for!

Hi David Thanks for the reply. I want to check a couple of baptisms and marriages, and a possible burial. I don't have the dates to hand but I will post another message later.

Hello again
Ok here are some of the people I am trying to find in Bythorn:
James BANKS - probably born sometime in the 1760s. He had brothers named Edward, and John, and a sister named Mary. I don't know the name of their father yet as this info has come from Wills. However their mother was named Sarah.
James did have an uncle named Thomas BANKS and an aunt Jane Banks (d1789) so I am guessing his father Mr ? Banks and uncles/aunts were probably born in the 1730s or 1740s.
Lastly I'm trying find any burials for the BANKS family in Bythorn between 1787-1820.
If more info is needed please ask and I'll try to provide it. Hope someone can help here. Matt

According to the BVRI (and I see that Bythorn baptisms have been extracted onto the IGI at www.familysearch.org so you could have checked them yourself) there are no Banks baptisms in Bythorn from 1606 until presumably your James and Ann baptised children 1786-98 as follows Jane 25 Jun 1786 John 23 Sept 1787 James 8 Mar 1789 Mary 17 Apr 1791 Thomas 3 Mar 1793 Sarah 26 Aug 1798
James Banks married Ann Curpin at Bythorn on 27 Oct 1785, both otp
The only previous Banks marriage was that of Mary, otp, to William Boyfield on 8 Oct 1771
I only have access to Banks burials up to 1800, which can also be accessed on the pay per view site at http://www.familyhistoryonline.net/ which are Sarah 3 July 1766 Sarah 3 Mar 1775 Edward 4 Dec 1787 Jane 27 Mar 1795 Sarah 27 Mar 1795
There was only one marriage 1754-70 in Hunts of a Banks to a Sarah: 1760 John & Sarah Swepson at Hail Weston
I cannot see a marriage of an Edward Banks in Hunts
Bythorn is also very close to the Northants county boundary so it's possible they came from there.

Hi David
Thanks for the info. Yes I was aware that Bythorn in on FamilySearch but I think it may have some entries missing as I have some Banks in my tree which aren't on the FamilySearch website (and we all know how unreliable the IGI can be at times). Also I wanted to clarify some details on my Banks tree as I haven't look at them for several years and don't have access the the PRs myself. Of course my main aim if finding the baptism of James Banks and his siblings and it was here that I had hoped you would be able to help.
The IGI has a gap between 1632-1660 but the earliest Banks recorded on there seems to be Jane Banks (1786) as you have already found. Jane is my direct ancestor and finding out about her family has been a bit tricky.
I already had the marriages of James Banks and Ann Curpin (whose family I need to look into next) and Mary Banks and William Boyfield. I had not considered the marriage of 1ohn Banks & Sarah Swepson at Hail Weston in 1760 but this might be worth investigating. James and Ann named their eldest son John (b1787) and their last child was Sarah Banks (b1798). My only concern here is the distance between Hail Weston and Bytorn, but I will look into this more.
Lastly it is interesting that you mention Northamptonshire. Jane Banks married John Richardson (b1782) who (as far as I know) came from Northamptonshire. They were married in London but they lived and raised their children in Great Weldon, Northamptonshire.

Hi Matt, I currently have the Bythorn parish register on loan at my local LDS library and could check for entries if you like. And yes, I can certainly vouch for the fact that there are lots of gaps in the familysearch entries. Judy

Bear in mind that what's on the IGI for Bythorn is taken from the Bishops Transcripts, not from the parish register. The BTs are not complete in the 17th & 18th centuries, although they do seem to be complete for 1777-1858. The BVRI entries for Bythorn are taken from the PRs.
Where do the gaps occur for Bythorn?
