Any information please on the following.
James Brown & Mary Ann (nee Dunn), married 1833 Swinton & Simprin, Berwick., James Iron Moulder/Gen.Lab.
Daughter Mary Ann born about 1833 - 1842 at Dunbar, according to various census, marriage shows her 32 (1841), death at 82 (1837), 1901 68 (1833), so there is a variation in birth dates.
Next child about 1838 Coldingham ? and the rest at Coldingham. Have been unable to find a birth for Mary Ann nor a 1841 census for the family . They were not in Coldingham 1841 and James was dead before 1851.
Anything at all in Dunbar?

Hi Beckey,
Do you have a birthplace for either James or Mary Ann? It would help to track them down in 1841.
I have Browns in Dunbar but unfortunately not the same family.

Just realised you wouldn't have a birthplace for James, given he was dead by 1851.

Hi again Beckey,
I think I have found your family in 1841. Ancestry have the name transcribed as Brown, but FreeCen have decided on Burns.
Residence: Bambury Close, High Street, Dunbar James Brown, m, 25, labourer, outside county Mary, f, 25, -, outside county Robert, m, 6, -, East Lothian Adam, m, 4, -, East Lothian Mary, f, 1, -, East Lothian

Hello Becky,
I have just started to research the Brown family and just yesterday downloaded the 1841 Census info mentioned by hume24 above.
I can trace the 6-year old Robert Brown down to me. But I have nor started to go backwards from James Brown of Dunbar. He married Mary Dunn on 1st Sept 1833 after an irregular marriage at Coldstream the previous month. (OPR 755/0030 0193.
How do we share info? I have just enlisted here today and I am unfamiliar with these fora.

Hi David,
Any information is welcome on James Brown's family, Elizabeth is my wife's maternal Gt. Grandmother, nothing on Adam & William, Robert married a Elizabeth Purves, Mary Ann a Alexander Hendry and Catherine a Robert Windram but not sure.
Reference jamesunst, I can't remember if I replied, if not appologise.
