The above John Dudley, he was a carpenter through out his life, he was married on Nov 5th 1749, to Ann Bennett, father William Bennett. We know very little more about Ann Bennett than her father was a sawyer and ran his own business as William Bennett and son.
John Dudley and his family were very prominent people in the village of Chelmarsh, which we have a lot of information on.
We need help, Where was he born? When was he born? Who were his parents? Where did they come from to Chelmarsh? Our guess is he was maybe born around 1725/30. Ann Bennett his wife was aged 18 years at the time of marriage. There is a record of a John Dudleys death on Jan 19th 1814 aged 89years old in St peters Church, Chelmarsh, this maybe a record the same John Dudley, it maybe not. If so, it gives us a fairly accurate date of his birth date.
Can any one please help? Any help would be greatfully appreciated. Regards, Eric.
