Hi Nanny. I think I have found 2 of the people you asked me to look for and maybe something extra!

Treasured Memories of
Michael Ellsmore Ledbury
Died 19th Oct 1919.
Also of his father
Albert Ellsmore Ledbury
Died 7th April 1960
Aged 66.

In the next grave was the following:

In Sacred Memory of
Donald Herbert
Dearly beloved son of
Herbert and Miriam Ledbury.
Called to higher work March 8th 1?29 Aged 22.
Also
Herbert Ledbury
22nd January 1865
15th February 1954
Reunited.
Also
Miriam Snelgrove Ledbury

She lived for others.

The graves are in the town Cemetry, which is huge!! If you think these are the right ones I will keep searching for the others.

Well Lass,

You are an Angel.  Thank you so much for that.  Michael was 2 months old when he died, Asphyxia when he turned his face into the pillow.  I have only received his certificate this week, so that is a bit spooky.  Albert is the baby's father, my grandfather.  Although I was born in 1950 I never met him so finding his grave is great.

As for Donald, Herbert and Mirriam I have no idea as yet, I will do a little more research on them tonight.  As they happen to be next door I assume they are ancestors of Albert.  Will let you know.

Please don't put yourself to any more trouble I am so grateful for what you have found.  I am still plodding through your Glamorgan families.  Hope I can find something for you too.

No trouble Nanny, Its nice to be able to help someone else from time to time. Goodness knows I've had plenty of assistance on this site.
I am back at school tomorrow so it may be a while before I do any more rooting round but I won't forget!

Meantime I found the following on FreeBMD

Herbert Ledbury, Melksham 5a 123
Marriage of Herbert and Miriam Sept 1901 5a 265 Bradford on Avon

Hello again

Snap, I had just pulled my old notes out and realised who Gt Uncle Herbert was.  Trouble is, you do so much research and you think you know them off by heart and then forget them when you start back on another branch. Took a look at Google Earth and they all lived within streets of each other during their lifetimes too.

Good luck with the back to school thing.  Hope the new intake are good ones!

Hi,

I think I have spoken to a couple of you before regarding Whitcombe / Whitcomb / Witcomb 's from Trowbridge. I am particularly looking for my partners 4x Great Grandfathers first wife. He remarried in 1816 and on his marriage cert it does say Widow. This is the only piece of information I have that relates to a possible first marriage. I can only presume, although I may be wrong, that his first wife is buried somewhere in the cemeteries of Trowbridge. This is what I am hoping.

His name was John Witcombe (this is how it was spelt on is marriage cert) and he was probably old enough to marry from about 1805 onwards. His parish was definitely Trowbridge, St James, I believe.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

In relation to the original listing, which is most useful and a great resource.  In the need for accuracy  there are two errors on the Grave noted for :

Vine.
William Vine d 17/2/1836 aged 58. Interred in Tabernacle Burial Ground.
Ann Vine, wife, d 27/5/1860 aged 79.
Ellen, wife of Joshua Perkins and daughter of above, b 16/8/1884  d 24/7/1894.
Joshua Perkins died at Southsea 15/10/1906 aged 9

It should read

Ellen, wife of Joshua Perkins and daughter of above, b 16/8/1814  d 24/7/1894.
Joshua Perkins died at Southsea 15/10/1906 aged 95 years

Sorry Famhunter, probably tired eyes or runny ink! Thanks for pointing it out. I will go back in and change it.
