Hi Jody,
There is an Ince approx 12 miles NNE of Chester and about 20 miles ESE of Altrincham...but there is also an Ince on the Eastern outskirts of Wigan!
Regarding the Yorkshire naming of siblings, in my family at least there doesn't realy seem to be any particular pattern.  Roll Eyes my eldest uncle took his fathers name as his first name but was known by his second...and my eldest aunt took her paternal grandmothers name but was known by her second name! It all seems a bit random and down to which name suited i guess!
They certainly didn't consider making things easier for the likes of us later generations sadly   Sad

It may be worth a look at www.donbavand1.freeserve.co.uk. There are several families in West Yorkshire, and Barry Donbavand has been digging around for some time.

Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND  everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.
