Topic: Anyone with access to records of St Thomas, Dudley? (Read 611 times)

Hi there,
I'm still on the chase for the origins of my elusive gt-gt-gt-grandmother Sarah Saint who married John Price and settled in the Dudley/Oldbury area, before moving to Wales mid 1850s. Having seen her gravestone, I'm keener than ever to track down who she is and where her family came from.
I cannot find a potential marriage (would've been mid-1830s or so) but I am asking if someone has access to the marriage records of St Thomas in Dudley as there is a marriage between John Price and Sarah Horton on 12/9/1831 on IGI and I'm curious, as I have found a Sarah Saint born in Horton, Staffordshire and wonder if the transcription is correct...
I'm going down any avenue, however blind, at the moment...

Helen, all St Thomas PR's are on the IGI. If Sarah lived in the Dudley area she could also have Married at St Giles Rowley Regis, All Saints Sedgley, they are also on the IGI. There are no copies of St Thomas PR's, BMSGH have fiche for Sedgley and Rowley Regis, HTH.

As Gardener suggests, I was hoping that if the St Thomas records are not listed anywhere but at the records office, then that some kind person, visiting there anyway, might do a look up for me.
It is a slim possibility, but I cannot find the marriage anywhere else - even in the surrounding counties. The IGI records are pretty good for this region (I've found, so far) - but unfortunately not for my Sarah. Also there are so many John Price's around that I cannot go any further with this research until I can find out some detail about their marriage.
I thought initially, when I saw the Saint name, that it would be straightforward, as it is an unusual name (unlike all the Prices and Williams names in the rest of my tree) - but no 
Anyway I still hope that someone can help - I live on the other side of the country so a visit to Dudley archives (as much as I would like to see the area for my own interest) is not an option.

Hi Helen, here are the details. John Price Bach of the Parish and Sarah Horton spinster of the Parish Married by Banns 12.9.1831 Witnesses Thomas Allen who was a Church Warden and Mary Ann Rue or Rae. John signed with a cross.

Hi there,
A kind person on the Derbyshire boards has done a look-up for me there and there is no marriage for Sarah in that region either. I've checked the IGI for the years between 1820 and 1850 for the whole of the British Isles and nothing comes up there either.
Can anyone who knows the Dudley/Oldbury/Wednesbury areas where Sarah either definitely lived (census location) or said she did (census birthplace) suggest anywhere else for me to look  ?

A kind person on the Derbyshire board has found a marriage for me in 1834 at Walsall, Staffs, so I shall post a message on the Staffordshire board to get some more information.
