Census information Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

I have 1881 full census listing for Worth, Northbourne, Little Mongeham, Great Mongeham, Woodnesborough, Shoulden, Sandwich;( St Mary's, St Peter's, St Clements, St Bartholew's), Walmer, Deal, Ash next to Sandwich, Eastry and the Eastry Union Workhouse, where the locals were sent, although we had a poor/workhouse in Worth. The Inmates are listed on the Census for Worth.
Looking very quickly for Ratcliffs.. there seems to be a few listed on the Worth 1881 Census.
I don't have the time to sort through all this information, but willing to send you the whole lot (via email)
Regards Claire

Hi Ash parish retain their own parish archive in St Nicholas church They have a database of information on anyone that appears in any of the parish documents. The best way to contact the archivist is via their web site www.s8nicholas.org.uk then click on history then family history research. Hope this is of help

Hi Jackie
All deposited records would be with Canterbury Cathedral Archives but, according to "East Kent Parishes" and what Max is saying, they have never handed any parish registers over and still have all the original records at the church. I would assume that this would probably apply to any surviving parish chest material too.

Hi I can confirm Canterbury archives contains only a copy of the PR and a list of records that can be found at Ash church, The only other place to look for Ash information is CCA-U357 in Canterbury Archives this is the registers for Ash Congregational / United Reform Church I seem to also remember that I found a Wesleyan register that covered Ash as well as several other local villages, Alas I cannot remember the village it was listed under!

CCA has microfilm copies of the parish registers, as well as the original BTs, but any other records are likely to be with the Parish if they still exist.
E-mail addresses for the Vicar and Churchwardens can be found on the church website: http://www.s8nicholas.org.uk/
Regards, Bill
