England to Pittsburgh 1871

I was wondering what information if any is available either on the journey or of their life in America of my ancestors as follows:
Walter Irwin & Maria Shakshaft married in England 28 Jan 1871, Cumberland.
They can’t be found on the 1871 census.
They presumably travelled immediately after they married & before the census.
With them were Walter’s children from his first marriage: Walter (born 3 Jan 1860), Mary Jane (born 9 Jan 1862) Isabella (born 21 Feb 1867).
On 10 Nov 1871 they had a daughter Matilda born in Pittsburgh.
On 18 Jan 1874 they had a daughter Catherine Ann born back in England, Co Durham.
So they came back sometime between Nov 1871 & Jan 1874.
And information would be appreciated.
