Hi
This request refers to http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,228573.0.html
James was born 1785 in Exeter, Devon. I have been assuming that he married in the St Pancras area but did he marry in Devon and then go to London?
spouse according to baptisms of children - hannah. First child born 1809 St Pancras.
Also see http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,224237.0.html for further information about the family.
Thank you
Kerry

Hi Deb
I have been in touch with a Sam Traies this week from East London and so far there are a possible 4 marriages for James so who knows!!!
So far we have Hannah, then a possible Jane in 1814 but not sure about that one, have marriage cert for Jane in 1842 and Mary in 1857.
I will get to the bottom of this one evenually.

Hiya Kerry Do you think he may have married before Hannah? He was the marrying kind, after all IGI extracted: James Traies Sally Crees abt 10 april 1803 Holy Trinity Exeter will look some more deb Hi Deb
Just thought I would answer this one. Have finally got down to looking at all the stuff I have accrued over the last couple of months on the Traies family in Devon.
It would appear that the above marriage is actually James Traies born 1766 who was uncle to my James (he of possible 5 or 6 wives) Traies.
Currently for my James the marriages I have proved are Hannah unknown, marr unknown but mother to Jane 1809, Samuel 1810 and ann 1813.
Martha died 1842 Kensington, have marr cert which has her as wife to James Traies, Tin Plate Worker. Theory that marriage could be 1831 James and Martha Looker in Hackney.
Jane Berry married James in 1842, have marr cert and died 1856 in Kensington.
Mary Jones married James in 1857, seen marr cert and died 1861.
Also found on Pallots marriage index Ann Sutton and James Traies 1818 Hackney??
Finding baptisms of James 1816, Henry 1820, Jane 1823, Hannah 1826 or Emma 1827 would prove some of these.
