Marion Jones [Welsh Gypsy descent] b1873

I am looking for details of my Great-grandmother Marion Jones b 1873 in Wales I believe. She was either a Romani or her Mother was. My Grandmother often told me of my Romani heritage, but I was young and didn't listen enough... My Aunt confirmed this and told me that we used to visit our Welsh Gypsy relatives. We lived in West Bromwich and left UK in 1958 for Australia, and lost touch with our English and Welsh relatives. I have no idea on where to go next, I can't find out anything about Marion except for on the 1901 census and none of that is very helpful as it only contained information that I already knew.

Welcome to Rootschat!

Perhaps you could provide full details of the 1901 Census incl the Ref. Number of the Piece, Folio, page etc,  so that we can try following Marion backwards? Do you know the name of her parents?

And do you have her marriage certificate? That at least may determine her father's name and occupation.

1901 living at 100 Grace Road, Aston, Edward is a Grocers assistant
Edward Rogers abt 1861 Quinton, Gloucestershire, England Head
Marion Rogers abt 1868 Birmingham Wife
Malcolm Rogers abt 1893 Birmingham Son
Rowland Rogers abt 1894 Birmingham Son
Doris Rogers abt 1899 Birmingham Daughter
Donald abt 1900(5 months) Birmingham Son

I do not know her parents names, and there is a question about her year of birth, I have both 1868 and 1873 listed on documents.   I will get a copy of the marriage cert.
