Elm Close,Hayling Island..

Hi,
I wonder if someone local will be able to help me?I am trying to find out a little bit more about an address on a certificate i have just received.It was in 1949 and was Elm Close,South Hayling Island..
I have Googled etc and just get Elm Close Estate,Hayling Island and wonder if this is the same place?
Of the 5 different certificates i have concerning this gentleman his addresses all appeared to be residential but turned out to be Public Houses and i just want to be sure either way with this one..Thanks!

This address did not exist in 1938 - the area shows virtually no buildings on it at all.

Elm Close shows up on Google Earth, if you have it, as quite a short road.  I suspect that the rectangular estae of houses that it leads to is the Elm Close estate.
