As the other thread includes the vital fact that in 1851 he gave his birthplace as Pidley I'm surprised you only say he was from the St Ives area!
Pidley cum Fenton is one of the many Hunts parishes that the LDS was refused permission to film so has not been extracted onto the IGI or BVRI, nor is a transcript available for sale by Hunts FHS.
So far as I am aware the only place you can view the register is at Huntingdon Records Office, which also run an efficient and reasonably priced research service
