       could you see if thomas churchill baptised in portesham.

Have you tried contacting Peter Ferreira, the OPC for Portesham? His e-mail is on the Portesham page.

I haven't needed to myself but I have found contacting other Dorset OPCs very fruitful.

Hi Sue and Geoff,

Unfortunately, for Portesham, as for a great number of Dorset parishes, we OPCs only have access to what films which are available through the I.G.I..  In the case of Portesham, this only covers the Bishop's Transcripts of the parish registers, starting from about 1731.  Those of us who do not live in England do not have access to the earlier parish registers, which are probably available in the Dorset County Records Office in Dorchester.
