Hi all, I'm looking for some help. I have a Thomas Coote, occupation soldier (deceased), listed as the father on a marriage cert dated 1885 for the marriage of James Coote (b 1858 in Bury st Edmonds), however, I can find no trace of Thomas Coote in the 1881 or 1871 census. Neither can I find his son James.

Can any one point me in the right direction for searching Suffolk military records.
