Can't see the wood for the !!!

Can anyone look up the marriage index for me please I need to find the marriages of two couples
William BAYLIS and Mary? about 1806 children born in Broughton William GILES and Eliza? about 1851 child born Hampton Poyle
Eliza married twice each time to decendents of William BAYLIS's parents Many thanks Trees

Ah I saw that IGI one and thought it was a patron entry as there is no actual date just the year I have 4 children for them and wonder ed if William went on to marry Susann HERRIEF in 1820 I woder if the index would show if he was a Widower on that marriage/William and Susanna have 5 ch 1820-1828 Trees Just seen you post great that looks like one solved many thanks Myfi

Hi Toby, I think this is a bit out they have a child in 1852 sadly William died in 1854, Eliza was born in Willoughby Warwickshire (from 51, 71, 81 and 91 census returns ) but thank you for trying Trees

Afraid the Marriage index doesn't show that William was a widower on the 1820 marriage....but just in case you need it

Thanks for that I've just checked the census and he was still with Mary I wonder if this second William will turn out to be a cousin Broughton isn't exactly huge so will keep that on file trees

William Baylis on the 1820 marriage was a bachelor.

Do you need any details on Mary NICHOLS and family? if so, just shout......I have just taken some notes.

Sorry to be so long I've got engrossed by the report of the murder in the Saye and Sele it looks like there could be a nimber of family connections ... yes please re mary Nichol strangely the Eliza I started this thread to trace was born in Willoughby Warwick (from censuses) so I put Eliza 1831 in Willoughby in Ancestry for 1841 and one turns up is Eliza NICHOLLS so was there a link up I tried to find Nichols marriages Broughton on Family Search with no joy hope you have done better with the PRs Very much apreciate your help Trees

Hi again Thanks for that. It looks like the William BAYLIS with Susanna HERRIEFF was at one time the Landlord of the Saye and Sele Arms (Twistledon Arms at that time) He died in 1842 but was mentioned by a witness in the murder case of James BUSBY husband of Susanna MOORBY who in turn ws daughter of Edward MOORBY who was Landlord of the pub 1812-1826. I am following a MORBY line in Tadmarton and Broughton but haven't linked Edward in yet. It is getting more interesting by the minute Trees
