I went to one of the Wrexham cemeteries (main one?) to take photographs of a couple of Commonwealth war graves.  It was the best cemetery that I have been to, the staff member on site waved me into a disabled parking space (only time that I have ever parked in one and there were plenty left as all the parking spaces were so marked).  He took me in his office where had folders with plans of all the various sections of the cemetery which he gave me.  It was a nice day so he took me to the graves.  There is a noticeboard in the car park with copies of a booklet on the Polish burials there and that includes a plan of the cemetery.  I think there was a plan on the noticeboard as well, only place that I have seen one.

I found the guy at and the cemetery of Wrexham the best I have ever been to, in being looked after and for helpfulness from those in authority.

I wanted to locate a JONES grave  Shocked - he found it and took me to the location himself, apologising that there was no headstone!

no red tape, no ridiculous charges, no "I can't be bothered with your request" attitude - it was a joy to have travelled all that way and have such a positive experience.

Take note: Liverpool, Manchester,  St Helens, Warrington etc etc this is how they should be run.

Cool

I have Bennett ancestors, who were miners, buried at St. John's Churchyard in Rhosllanerchrugog.  The churchyard is now overgrown and closed to the public.  I would like to know whether there are any monumental inscriptions for the churchyard as they could provide further information to establish relationship.

I have also found Bennett ancestors, miners, whose births, marriages and deaths are recorded in the St. Giles, Wrexham parish registers, but showing either Brymbo or Broughton as their residences.  Does this mean that they were probably buried where they lived rather than in Wrexham itself.  Are there any monumental inscriptions covering Brymbo and Broughton.

The Vicar of the church at Pentre Broughton says the rector has maped the graveyard and it is on CD rom. You can access it by applying to him.

Hi

I have contacted the Rector and he tells me that whilst he has access to the records they are not on cd rom. He has kindly agreed to look if a couple of my relatives are in the graveyard but I am not sure whether he would want to have many requests. To be fair he didn't say. It may be worth checking with your contact to check.
