My 4G Grandfather Thomas Clemmy, whilst living in the North East from at least 1840 onwards, was born in Beetham (from census) c1812. Using census and IGI we have found a Thomas Clemmy & wife Jane living in Heversham which geographically and time wise fits well as possible parents. We have found baptism references for a number of children to T&J but unfortunately as yet no reference to Thomas (JNR). I would be grateful if anyone has any information which might help us firm up this link or some information on the marriage of Thomas (c1779) and Jane. Additionally the 1777 Window Tax return for South Westmoreland shows a Thomas Clemmy could this be a 3rd generation Thomas ? Thanks in advance for any responses. regards
Frances Thank you very much for your time searching the Clemmy family for me. You have given me the additional evidence I needed to be confident linking the two younger Thomas's together and now to John which is great.
Funnily enough I had stumbled across the Thos & Ann wedding but before you introduced John that was so far back I had discounted it. He is recorded as being a chairmaker very similar to occupation of middle Thomas who was a carpenter / wheelwright !?!
That can be my new challenge to link John to Thos and Ann. Thanks again !!
