JOHN GRAY - Upminster

I am looking for details of birth/baptism of John Gray at Upminster circa 1848.

Any help much appreciated.

Hello Chris,
Have just joined RootsChat so have found your 2007 posting re John Gray. I believe that he was actually born John Barnes on 11 March 1848 at Upminster, mother Sarah Barnes, no father.

His mother Sarah and my ancestor Samuel Barnes were brother and sister. I don't know why the family name changes from Gray to Barnes through different census and certificates.  It has taken me 7 years to find my great grandmother Jane Harriet Barnes (on her mc) and Gray on her bc. You may already have this info since you posted this request two years ago. Regards, Maggie
