Could they have been non-conformist? There were a couple of baptist chapels in the vicinity. I've checked the BVRI which has Keysoe baptisms 1813-44 extracted but there are no Goddards

Marriage cert of 1846 to Elizabeth Wells will confirm his father . Otherwise Tati has a good match in 1841 in Matthew Goddard who married Mary Colbert in Keysoe in1822.
