Attempting to trace Frederick Angel born 22.1.1863 and Lucy Annie Angel born Oct-Dec 1871. Frederick Angel shown as dairy boy at East Knighton in 1881 census and Lucy Angel shown as domestic servant at Winterbourne Steepleton Manor in 1891. No trace of either after these dates.

This could be the Christening of Lucy.

Lucy Annie Angel Christened 1 February 1872 Winfrith Newburgh Dorset
Parents were Thomas Angel and Martha

Hi Frances

Thanks for your reply but this Fred is the route I originally went down only to find out that this was the wrong Frederick Angel.
My guess is that Frederick followed his brother George into the army but I can't confirm that and Lucy disappeared when the Hawkins family left Winterbourne Steepleton Manor and were replaced by the Stilwell family who brought in their own servants.

Thanks for your reply - My Frederick was actually born George Frederick but as the first son was named George his names were reversed becoming Frederick George and shortened again to Frederick.

Have you had a look at the British Army Pensions now on www.ancestry.co.uk
or searched the medal index on the TNA website to see if Fred is there, if you think he might be in the army?
