I wonder if anyone can find this chap in the censuses for me?

Are you descended from one of his children? If so - please give us the name and birthyear/birthplace as that can help to trace on the 1901 census

The only George Gough in that age range in Hereford on the 1881 was living with grandparents and is shown as born Orcop 1871
Grandparents were Thomas Lane (73) (blind) b Much Dewhurst
Mary Lane 74 b Orcop
Address was Cox Brook Much Dewhurst
Nothing in 1891. 1901 has one in Wales b hereford but wife is Emma
You really need his birth cert
There is this marriage on freebmd
in Sept qtr 1865
Joseph Gough to either Elizabeth Jones or Harriet LANE Hereford 6A 837

Eleanor Fanny Edmonds was baptised in Llantillio Crossenny Monmouth in July 1871 daughter of James Edmonds and Sarah. James was a woodturner and on the 1881 Census the family are living at Abergavenny

Finally found George and Eleanor on the Welsh 1901. Image is Gough but transcript is Gouch and Eleanor is Cleanor
