I recently obtained a copy of the will of Robert GUY, of Dington Gloucestershire. The will was written in 1651 and proved in 1652. It has left me with a number of questions, one of which is where is Dington? Is it perhaps the parish of Doynton, or might it be Dodington?
Some of the relatives named in Robert's will are:
a sister with surname PEIDRS, whose children are Edward, George, Elizabeth, and Grace
a brother with surname PYKES, whose children are John, Walter, William, and Thomas
a sister with surname CUTT, whose daughter is named Jane
a brother William GUY, who has a son named John
mother, Mrs Ann GUY
wife Joane
a brother named Walter PYKES [who I reckon is the PYKES brother previously mentioned without a forename]
Does anybody recognise these people?
- David.
