I have a William THOMSON marrying a Jane DUNCAN in Ellon on 20 November 1834. I am wondering if they were living in the area since that is where they were suppose to have married? His father was Peter THOMSON and mother Susan GORDON born in Strichen. Susan's father was Alexander GORDON and mother Ann KIDD.
Regards.

I was aware of James Watson but haven't figured out what daughter he was married to and what happened to her.
The 1881 census information is new to me. Thanks Ev. I know that in one census he was listed as a pauper and I believe one of his daughters was living with him at that time. It has been a while since I have worked on the family since I was at a brick wall with them.
Alexander Fraser went to America but did go back to Scotland whether it was for medical treatment or the family was planning to go back I do not know. He died in Glasgow. Not sure where he is buried. I assume in Glasgow somewhere.

That is the problem with James Watson and Elizabeth. Either the date is wrong or he married a different daughter and she was named Elizabeth or called Elizabeth too. I have seen when one child died they sometimes named another child the same name. It can get very confusing when they did that. It is a puzzle who he married.
Smile.

I am curious about the grandchildren. I assume granddaughters Mary and Christian are either one or the other of William's daughter's children but who's daughter is Magaret Kidd? William's mother, Susan Gordon's family are related to the Kidd family.
Daughter, Mary, was living with her father in 1861 census, unmarried age 15. Possibly all three of them are Christian's daughters?
