any child birth cert after 1837 should give you the mothers maiden name.

if Richard & Elizabeth m. 1838 their marriage cert should give you their fathers names, (unless they were illegitimate in which case fathers details are likely to be left blank)
hopefully this will also tell you the age at which they married. and not just full age / of age / over 21 etc.

p.s. where is / what registration distrcit is Miningsby?

Altho Thimbleby is in the IGI, records 'batched' by the LDS dont seem to include your man's baptism ..... altho they claim to be up to 1916, I suspect thats a typo ....

I'd be tempted by this Marraige. The original image viewable on FREEBMD is a typewritten version of the original.

Rchard Rollit comeas right after a small batch of Rollinsons ... and Richard would be alphabetically next.

If you've ever looked at handwritten early GRO pages, it wouldnt be hard when re-transcribing to make a mistake.

A small investment might well reveal the actual Cert to be decipherable ..

struggling to find William born c1839 in GRO records.....

but this IGI find is strange - its an extracted ie Original parsh register entry, but Mum is NOT Elizabeth  ?

Could just be coincidence I guess ...

I couldnt see them in 1841 census - wondering if the Elizabeth in 1851 is a 2nd wife - might explain 4 year age gap in kids ?

Dear Eilleen
In January you mailed me asking whether I had seen an article in the Lincoln Gazette of 1888 regarding "Betsey" You said you had tried send me a copy but withot success. I do recall asking you to perhaps have another try. although I cant trace the message.Perhaps it didn't go.
If you are unable to help perhaps you could let me know whether I can get details via another route.
If you can help I shall be very grateful.
Regards....Brian
