Carlisle families

Hi, all!

Having ricocheted off all my "brick walls" I find myself back where I started, all those years ago - good old Carlisle!

In the vain hope that someone new might have a snippet of info, my interests are thus:

Beattie Brothers, Warwick Road. Joseph Edward Beattie, my grandfather, originated across the border in Langholm.

Routledge - originating in Hayton by Brampton, William Routledge (my 2xG-Grandfather) served in RA and children vborn in various postings here and abroad.

Meyers - oh, spell it however you fancy! Reputedly originating in Heligoland, my earliest account is Archibald Meyre on the 1841 census for Carlisle, born Scotland c.1815 - married and father 9 children and "disappeared" by 1857!

Think that'll do to be going on with - look forward to hearing from any of you who might have a connection!  Wink
