Identify the photo
« on: Sunday 29 June 08 14:15 BST (UK) »

I have found this photo amongst some of my late father's paperwork and wonder if anyone can shed any light on when or where it was taken and what the sport was.  At the foot of the photo is says "The Kings Cup presented to the Portland RTGA"

Any ideas ?

Hi Cowpig

There are some photographs on
http://www.isleofportlandpictures.org.uk/Army/
of the presentation of the Kings Cup on Portland in 1925. It was awarded for Gunnery, apparently. Lots of other pictures there as well.

Hope this helps

Hi Pete,

Have come across another photo - no clues this time though.

Hi Cowpig  Smiley

You might do better if you re-post, or add a link to these photos on the Armed Forces - WW1 board - there are loads of experts on there who can help. Wink

Hi Cowpig

Can't help you with that one - Armed Forces board is the place, someone there will be able to help, or at least to narrow things down and make suggestions.

good luck Smiley
